Ellen Tinkham School

A vibrant, friendly school where children learn and are happy.

Ellen Tinkham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Ellen Tinkham is a Community Special School for children and young people aged 3-19 years, who have severe learning disabilities. All our children have a statement of special educational needs.

The school benefits from a wide range of specialist staff and extensive, well-equipped facilities. Class groups are small, with a high staff : pupil ratio, so that children have plenty of support in order to achieve. We have close links with several mainstream schools, where our children can access high quality inclusion opportunities.

At the heart of Ellen Tinkham School is our commitment to putting the children at the heart of everything we do, through our holistic approach to education. We know that children learn best when they are in an environment that is responsive to their needs. Our school is able to meet these needs, providing a positive and stimulating experience unique to each individual that also ensures their full education entitlement.
